Wed 1 May – Mundrabilla to Esperance

Weather good – occasional showers, quite cloudy.
Some straight road!
Numerous sections of the Nullarbor are designated as landing
strips for the Royal Flying Doctors Service.
Would not like to see a plane meeting that road train!
Up early for a 7.30 am start.  Much less interesting than yesterday, and no real stops before Norseman for a late lunch. Norseman very dead – and Clive’s coffee cost $7!  The trip on to Esperance was uneventful.  Arrived mid afternoon and found ourselves a motel on the Esplanade overlooking the bay and port. Sun was shining when we arrived and not cold.

No life in Norseman.... and $7 coffee.
Had been planning on camping in one of the National Parks in Esperance vicinity over the next four + days, so did our supermarket shopping before heading out for dinner.  Not many places open (Wed night?) but we ended up splurging on The Loose Goose at $49 one course, $59 two, $69 three.  It’d better be good!  We only had one (main) course and my sirloin/veges/red wine jus and Clive’s pepper steak/pasta/veges were fantastic.  Definitely no complaints and we were extremely full.  No idea how anyone would have room for more courses.

A comfortable night and large screen TV WITH remote.
