Weather cloudy, with rain patches.
Forecast occasional rain and possible
storms.
(Great camping weather.)

Oops - we left this muddy mess in the motel carpark in Esperance.
Headed towards Le Grand National Park and checked out the
area and campsites. Lucky Bay
was delightful, but camping was crowded and quite regimented in small
‘plots’. We now realise it’s the last
week of the WA school holidays. (Having
just been through the last week of the SA school holidays last week!) That explained the crowded bit.

Cape Le Grand NP - Lucky Bay - glorious

Rock formations were intriguing - Cape Le Grand NP
Headed further East towards Mt Arid National Park.
After a lot of skirting around checking out
alternatives, we ended up at
Thomas
River.
$5 per night per person (seniors rate).
Our camp spot is large but not really ‘bush
camping’ which we’d prefer, however a stones throw to magnificent beach.
It was very late afternoon by the time we
decided on
Thomas
River, and we’d been
through an afternoon of on/off rain and threatening skies.
We decided to risk it and set up.
With sunset so early (dark by 5.30 pm) we
only just made it, but the rain held off.
With no fire tonight and pitch black, we had dinner of left over potato
salad and cheese sandwiches in the tent.
By part way through ‘dinner’ the rain hit, so a game of
scrabble before calling it a night. It
would have been all of 8 pm.
seniors rate haha love it putting my paper work in as we speak!!!
