Sun 2 June – back to Coral Bay, via Exmouth

We moved North towards the Cape Range National Park, and eventually to Exmouth.  This took us through the Learmonth Airforce Base (do not trespass, other than driving through – target practice maybe) and the Cape Range NP.  A lot of people camping at most of the designated camping spots along the coast – all very open to the weather so did not appeal to us.  We proceeded around the top – past the North West Cape joint US/Australian communications base, and to Exmouth.
Exmouth rather a non-event – its fame is as a jumping off point for divers exploring wrecks and the whale sharks.  Some expensive resorts and nice beaches as well, but not the weather for swimming yesterday – rather overcast.  Not tempted to stay, we continued on down the main road back to Coral Bay where we’ve got a quiet spot up the back of the caravan park.  En route, the gorges of the Cape Range NP were worth seeing.
